일본의 전통 공예 기법인 마키에(Maki-e, 蒔絵) 방식으로 제작된 일본 전통 칠기 쟁반(丸盆, 라운드 트레이)입니다.

주로 전통 깊은 칠기 산지인 키슈 칠기(紀州漆器) 등에서 생산되는 디자인으로, 기품 있고 우아한 일본 특유의 미적 감각이 돋보이는 생활 공예품입니다

하늘을 날아오르는 두 마리의 학(금빛/은빛)과 그 아래 자리 잡은 소나무가 정교하게 표현되어 있습니다.

동아시아 문화권에서 학은 '장수와 행운'을, 소나무는 '불변과 영원한 삶'을 상징하여 매우 상서롭고 복을 부르는 문양(Auspicious Motif)으로 여겨집니다.

옻칠이나 카슈 도장 처리를 한 어두운 흑색 또는 밤색(溜塗り) 바탕 위에, 금가루나 은가루를 뿌려 문양을 도드라지게 입히는 일본 고유의 장식 기법입니다.
