Farsi Land: Persian Language Audio Visual Package For Non Persian Beginners

The present book is an attempt to teach Persian language to those interesting in learning this language from scratch. This book is intended for a variety of audiences ranging from children to adults with different backgrounds and purposes. The idea behind writing the book comes from my experience of meeting some non-Persian speakers around the world requiring a practical reference for self-learning Persian language. In fact, in my years of a linguist, a teacher, a researcher and a writer, working on different aspects of Persian linguistics, I realize that most learners believe that mastering in Persian without getting help from a teacher is a rather frustrating task due to its weird written system as well as conspicuous difference between written and spoken versions of the language. So, I tried to keep the structure of the book in such a way to be quite applicable by those desiring to use it as a starting self-learning reference. The book has been divided into 42 lessons, each of which introduces an individual letter in Persian coming with a short description, new words containing the given letter, and some sentences constructed using that letters and the letters already taught providing English transliterations and translations.
